History of the hotel:

For 4 generations, the Jacquier family has shared with its guests its love for Burgundy region and its passion for its profession as French hotelier and restaurateur. Already owner of 4 hotels in Dijon, and one in Beaune, the Jacquier family decided to cross the doors of Chalon-Sur-Saône in 1992, with the opening of Ibis Chalon Europe. This city has everything to please! It is certified "City of Art and History" because of its rich heritage and the work of Nicéphore Niepce, who made it the world birthplace of photography. The wine from the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise is as good as the one from its neighbours in Côte d'Or. The city is magnificently crossed by the Saône, for a discovery of the districts along the water. And the dynamism is no longer to be proven with festivals, markets, fairs and carnivals in the streets! The Jacquier family was right: this hotel is such a success that they come back in the city in 2015 to open an Ibis Budget Chalon Nord, opposite the first hotel.

These two hotels are in the hands of Emanuel Mouchet. He joined the Jacquier group in 2002 and gained experience in different hotels. In 2008, he became General Manager of Ibis Chalon Europe, then, as soon as it was built, of Ibis Budget Chalon Nord.

The restaurant Le Gourmand has an appropriate name! The menu includes traditional local dishes such as "Pig in a ballottine stuffed with its vegetables, Chardonnay reduced juice, vegetable crisps and smoked streaky bacon”. Food lovers will be able to go behind the scenes thanks to a window with a view on the kitchen, in complete transparency! The sunny Mediterranean-looking terrace offers a calm and restful area, next to the swimming pool! The wine bar, with more than 120 references, will sublimate the Chef's culinary preparations. Finally, as greed goes hand in hand with generosity, the team is devoted, smiling and always available!
