The history of our hotel group begins with the construction of our first hotel in 1928. The establishment, now called “Hôtel Ibis Styles Central”, inspired by art deco, is located right in the historic centre of Dijon.

In 1977, we were to decide to set up the second hotel in the group, in the three-star category. “Hôtel Ibis Arquebuse” is located across the road from Dijon train station and has 128 rooms.

During the same period, “Hôtel Mercure Dijon Centre Clemenceau” was erected and it opened to guests in 1980. In the centre of Dijon, facing the Dijon Palais des Congrès (the Dijon Convention and Exhibition Centre), it obtained its fourth star in 1997.

In 1984 the group acquired “Hôtel de la Cloche”, one of the oldest hotel establishments in Europe – its history goes all the way back to 1424. Today it is a five-star hotel and flies the flag of the MGallery Collection chain.

Now the owners of four hotels in Dijon, we were then to decide to have a look what other towns in Burgundy had to offer. Thus “Hôtel Ibis Beaune La Ferme Aux Vins” came into being in 1988, opposite the town’s brand-new convention and exhibition centre. And then, in 1992, it was in Chalon Sur Saône that we set up shop – “Hôtel Ibis Chalon Europe” has 86 rooms and a swimming pool.

Even then, the group did not rest on its laurels, since in 2005 an “Ibis Budget” hotel was opened in Dijon, a B&B in the city center, and the 102-room “Hôtel Ibis Dijon Centre Clemenceau” establishment opened to guests at the end of the first quarter of 2007.

In June 2015, an Ibis Budget in Chalon Sur Saone is born.
